We develop simulation software for static and dynamic analysis of drivetrains and offer engineering services – based in Kiel, Germany.
Account for the dynamic effects standard design misses
Our software simulates the dynamic behavior of rolling bearings together with their elastic surrounding structure. Cage loads and the frictional energy in each contact are calculated. Failure modes seen in the field can thus be addressed early in design, and the root causes of existing problems can be identified. The first release is tailored to tapered roller bearings and their application as rotor bearings; further drivetrain components will follow.

Short computation times
Our highly optimized contact algorithms are more than 100× faster than conventional FE contact methods – at the same result quality.
Easy and reliable to use
No dynamics or FE expertise required: models use familiar bearing parameters, and results are shown per ring, roller etc. – just as in common bearing design tools.
Fully coupled system
Rings, rollers, cage and surrounding structure are coupled as flexible bodies in one nonlinear FE model – without the usual linearization or rigid-body simplifications.
Engineering services
Our team combines proprietary simulation technology with more than 25 years of industry experience in mechanical design and the wind industry. We carry out calculations and simulations for bearings, drivetrains and structures. Based on our technology, we also develop custom software such as model generators and post-processing tools for your application.
About us
COMPOSE Technologies was founded in Kiel in 2022 by Christian Schönke and Thies Hecker. Our simulation technology was developed at Kiel University from 2020 onward, funded by the German federal EXIST program. Today, our team combines drivetrain engineering, wind industry expertise and software development, and our customers work directly with the people who build the software.
